Biography

Connor Holland

Connor is a versatile musician and educator based in New York City. He serves as Adjunct Professor of Brass at University of Bridgeport, Music Director for Casita Maria Center for Arts and Education, and as faculty at the Kaufman Music Center. His playing has been described as “emotionally stirring” (Nippertown). Connor has appeared as trumpet soloist with the Washington Heights Chamber Orchestra for Bach Brandenburg Concerto No. 2, the LaGrange Symphony Orchestra for the Haydn Trumpet Concerto, and alongside Grammy Award-winning Arturo O’Farrill in the latin jazz ensemble BronX BandA. Connor holds two master’s degrees from the Yale School of Music, served as the Morse Post-Graduate Fellow for the Yale Music in Schools Initiative, and studied Instrumental Music Education at Florida State University. He has performed in Carnegie Hall, Merkin Hall, Scullers Jazz Club, and Dizzy’s Club at Lincoln Center.

Currently, most active as a chamber musician, Connor is a founding member of Amo Brass. Amo Brass has had residencies at the Virginia Arts Festival, Friends of Music Westchester, Norfolk Chamber Music Festival, Avaloch Farm Music Institute, and was awarded the American Brass Quintet Prize at the 2023 Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition. Amo Brass' vision for their ensemble is to provide a musical experience which offers a commitment to accessible education, cultural leadership, and service to society through the arts.
