Cordelia Wilson
Cordelia Wilson is a captivating young coloratura soprano. She recently completed her B.M. at Ithaca College with an Outside Field in Theatre. For her senior recital in 2019, Ms. Wilson single-handedly presented a program of opera scenes sung by her peers, which she cast, directed, and costumed herself. On the same program, she also performed “Una donna quindici anni” from Mozart’s Cosi fan tutte.

Biography

Cordelia Wilson

Ms. Wilson made her opera debut as a chorus member in Opera Ithaca’s 2017 production of Ruggero Leoncavallo’s Pagliacci under the baton of Maestro Thomas Bagwell. Her most recent performance with Opera Ithaca was in Caccini’s La Librazione. Some of her other credits with the company include Pirates of Penzance, Tosca, and Carmen. Most recently, Ms. Wilson joined the chorus for the NJ Festival Orchestra’s production of Pagliacci. In 2018, Ms. Wilson attended Music Academy International’s young artist program in Italy. She performed her first operatic role that summer at the Trentino Music Festival as La Chouette & Une Pastour in Ravel’s L’enfant et les sortileges. On the concert stage, Ms. Wilson performed many times with the Ithaca College Chorus & Treble Chorale throughout her degree. She has also performed in multiple concerts with the Dorothy Cotton Jubilee Singers, including a concert presentation of Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess, as well as a concert of gospel music and spirituals at the Kennedy Center. Ms. Wilson also performed Bester Jüngling from Der Schauspieldirektor on a recital with her “Acting and Movement for the Opera Singer” class at Ithaca College. Recently, she joined the Phoenicia International Festival of the Voice as a chorus member in their Opening Night Gala.
