With a voice of many colors, Cydney Marie is driven by a passion for authentic and expressive musical performance. She excels across a wide range of genres—including opera, musical theatre, gospel/worship, jazz, pop, and R&B/soul—bringing rich emotional depth to every piece she performs, regardless of style or language.

In the 2025 summer season, she participated as a Conservatory student at the Bay View Music Festival. Where she recently performed the role of Sarah in Ragtime, Chorus in Carmen and as a featured participant in the American Negro Spirtuals Intensive with Dr. Everett McCorvey. 

Her recent stage roles include Basketweaver/Older Sister in Les Malheurs d’Orphée, Zita in Gianni Schicchi, Dame Hannah in Ruddigore, Marcellina in Le Nozze di Figaro (Opera at USC), Pythia in We’ve Got Our Eye on You, Ottavia in L’incoronazione di Poppea, and Madame de la Haltière in Cendrillon (Chicago Summer Opera). She also appeared in the ensemble of the world premiere of The Flower of Hawai’i (Folks Operetta), and performed as Ruth in The Pirates of Penzance and Ronny in Hair (Millikin University), as well as Little Inez in Hairspray (Brightside Theater).

Her summer training includes the Accademia Vocale Lorenzo Malfatti in Lucca, Italy (2024), the Chicago Summer Opera Young Artist Program (2022), and the Hawaii Performing Arts Festival (2018).

Cydney’s competition achievements include: Second Place, Classical Singer Competition (Musical Theatre University/Pre-Professional Division, 2025), Vocalist, University of South Carolina Concerto Competition (2024), Semifinalist, Annapolis Opera Competition (2024), Honorable Mention, Lorenzo Malfatti Vocal Academy (2023), First Place, Classical Singer Competition (Musical Theatre University/Pre-Professional Division, 2022). 

Cydney holds a Master of Music in Opera Theatre from the University of South Carolina and a Bachelor of Arts in Vocal Performance with an emphasis in Vocal Pedagogy from Baldwin Wallace University. In addition to performing, she runs her own voice studio, CMW Sounds LLC. Cydneyofficial.com
