Damiano Perrons

Born in Lecce in 1992, he moved to Rome at a very young age where he embarked on an artistic career as an actor under the guidance of the famous pedagogue Francesca De Sapio. He then studies with names like Giulio Scarpati, Beatrice Bracco, John Stasberg, Mamadou Dioume and with the motivator Bernard Hiller. At the same time he conciliates the studies of Business Economics at the "La Sapienza" University of Rome (to later specialize in Finance, Administration and Risk management). In 2013 he was admitted to the Academy of Dramatic Arts in Rome, obtaining, at the end of the three years, the BA - Bachelor of Arts (honors in Acting) at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama at the University of Wales. Here he trained according to the methodologies of Mejerchol'd and Karpov, deepened the method of Eugenio Barba but above all the technique of Vasil'ev's etjud, useful not only in his career as an actor but also as a director. In 2016 he was admitted to the famous Ecole de Lecoq in Paris. In addition to his studies, he joined his professional career by acting in several television series such as "R.I.S.-Delitti imperfetti", "Un caso di coscienza", "Don Matteo" etc. But he is also very active in the theater since 2010, the year in which he made his debut in Rome with "Amleto" and "Ecuba". He plays with big names in shows such as "Rugantino" directed by Marco Simeoli, "Il Gabbiano" by Cechov, "Le Bal" and "Tradimenti" by Harold Pinter directed by Giancarlo Fares, "Antigone by Jean Anouilh" signed by Federica Tatulli. He plays complex characters in Shakespeare's plays including "Romeo+Juliet", "Molto rumore per nulla" and "Pene d'amor perdute" with which he opens the Segesta Festival in 2015. He works with Craig Peritz staging "Endgame" by Samuel Beckett and a few years later "Camino Real" by Tennessee Williams. Also by Beckett is staged in 2016 with "All that fall". He deals with Eric Bogosian's "SubUrbia" with Caterina Capodilista and in the same year he again interprets Nekrosius's "Il Gabbiano" by Cechov. He initially approaches opera as a performer (actor-dancer) working very intensively for the Teatro of the Opera in Rome in titles such as Verdi's "Nabucco" and "La Traviata" in the staging of Lorenzo Mariani and Sofia Coppola, "La Sonnambula" by Bellini directed by Giorgio Barberio Corsetti, Bizet's "Carmen" and many others. He also works in Parma in operas such as "Tosca" by Puccini or "Luisa Miller" by Verdi with the stage director Lev Dodin, on the occasion of the Festival. In 2018 he was admitted to the prestigious Opera Verona Academy directed by Cecilia Gasdia at the Dall'Abaco Conservatory in Verona where he specialized in Opera Direction. Among the most important names stand out internationally renowned professionals such as Quirino Principe, Stephen Medcalf, Emilio Sagi, Damiano Michieletto, Leo Muscato and many others. In 2019 he is assistant director to Paul Curran for the show "My fair lady" at the Teatro Massimo in Palermo. In the summer of the same year he entered the direction office of the Arena di Verona Foundation alongside Stefano Trespidi and Filippo Tonon, following the staging of Verdi's "La Traviata" directed by Maestro Franco Zeffirelli, the "Aida 1913" directed by Gianfranco De Bosio and the "50 Gala Domingo" dedicated to the 50-year career of Maestro Plàcido Domingo. In 2020 he assists Pierluigi Pizzi at the Teatro Regio in Turin in two operas, the reprise of Cimarosa's "Il matrimonio segreto" and the absolute first staging of Korngold's "Violanta". In May 2020 he conceives a television format for a program for the GoldTv channel. Outside the opera business, where he works as a director and assistant director, he works as an actor and acting coach for actors and singers. Damiano is often hosted by various Universities to talk to graduating students about his work, therefore his artistic experience, the world of managerial agencies and show business.
