Danielle Jagelski is a conductor and composer based in New York City. At home in both operatic and orchestral realms, she is the Music Director of Renegade Opera, conductor of the Norwalk Youth Symphony concert orchestra, and visiting opera faculty at Temple University.
Danielle has recently conducted at Bruno Walter Auditorium at Lincoln Center (New York, NY), Hallowed Halls (Portland, OR) and Aquilon Music Festival (McMinnville, OR). She is a lover of collaboration, having premiered over 50 newly written works by living composers. Under her music direction, a recent production of Gluck’s Orfeo ed Euridice was described as:

Danielle is a fierce advocate for equity in musical spaces. She is mentor for Girls Who Conduct, a mentorship program for young women and non-binary conductors to foster diversity and in the classical music world. Hailing from the Oneida Nation and Redcliff Band of Ojibwe, Danielle often collaborates with other Native artists in multidisciplinary projects in order to sustain and further the visibility of Indigenous peoples in the fine arts realm. She has presented her research on Indigenous identity and classical music throughout the US and Canada.
Danielle began her musical studies in classical composition at Hamline University with Jannika Vandervelde, and began her conducting studies at Conservatorium van Amsterdam with Jos Vermunt. She is currently pursuing further studies in Orchestral Conducting at Manhattan School of Music with Maestro George Manahan.
