Biography

Danny Goldman

Clarinetist Danny Goldman picked up his first clarinet at the age of 11.  He performed all the Weber concerti with The Louisville Orchestra by the age of 14.  At 15, he was principal and soloist with The World Youth Symphony Orchestra.  By 16, he was praised as “flat-out, jaw-agape spectacular” (The Courier-Journal, USA) and called a “wunderkind” (Maestro Robert Franz).   Danny began his formal training at The Juilliard School with Ricardo Morales.  During his studies, he went on tour throughout South America, China, Japan, USA, and Israel.  Performances included a world premiere concerto with The New Juilliard Ensemble in Alice Tully Hall, Mozart’s Requiem in Carnegie Hall for the September 11 Memorial, and solo features on ChamberFest, FOCUS Festival, and The Great Expectations Recital Series. Since graduating, Danny has performed with many organizations including The Cincinnati Symphony, Philadelphia Orchestra, Boston Symphony, and IRIS Orchestra; he has been a soloist at The Tanglewood Music Center, Dallas Chamber Symphony, Chelsea Music Festival, Spoleto Festival, Pacific Music Festival, The Guggenheim Museum, and The Kennedy Center.  Recent collaborations include work with The Amaryllis Quartet, Ken-David Masur, Zubin Mehta, and Emmanuel Villaume. Upcoming performances include The Magic Flute, Don Carlo, and a gala performance with Plácido Domingo and The Dallas Opera, where Danny is a tenured member. Danny’s latest project is a partnership with Grace Wollett and SamsungVR (Virtual Reality) to produce and share 3-dimensional, 360-degree classical music concerts with the public.
