Darcy Stamp is a Canadian jazz violinist whose sound encapsulates the essence of the classic swing era. It is a sound that conjures up images of fedoras, late-night clubs, and classic cocktails - a sound that is immediately evocative of a bygone era.

Darcy's musical journey began as a teenager when he would sneak into jazz clubs in Calgary to hear his favourite musicians in town. His love for music and his determination to pursue it as a career only grew stronger as he became immersed in the jazz scene. He quickly established himself as a talented musician, performing in small clubs and venues across Canada and beyond.

Darcy has performed at some of the world's most prestigious venues, including the Kennedy Center and The Smithsonian in Washington, DC, and the Jazz YYC TD Summer Jazz Festival. He has also traveled extensively, performing in the US, UK, and even Nigeria, showcasing his incredible talent to audiences all over the world.

Over the course of his career, Darcy has collaborated with a wide range of artists, including Josh Groban, George Canyon, Tim Tamishiro, John Wort Hannam, Johnny Summers, and The Calgary Jazz Orchestra.

His passion for bringing new works to the jazz violin repertoire has led him to commission several new pieces, including "The Stamp Collector Suite," which he premiered in April 2023 with the Calgary Jazz Orchestra.

Darcy's upcoming studio album, "It Doesn't Have To, But It Might," with his Quartet, is set to be released in mid-2023. The album promises to be a testament to Darcy's artistry and a continuation of his legacy in the jazz world.
