(He/Him) American tenor Davian Raggio has been praised for his light, agile voice and powerful command of the stage. Davian was last seen debuting Frederic in Gilbert and Sullivan’s Pirates of Penzance with Eklund Opera in Boulder, CO. This Summer, Davian is singing Juan Carlos Lopez in a workshop of Mark Adamo’s new opera: Sarah in the Theatre with the CU New Opera Workshop. After that, Davian will be joining Middlebury German for Singers, a fully immersive German language opera program, to sing the role of Il Contino Belfiore in W.A. Mozart’s Die Gärtnerin aus Liebe (La finta giardiniera).
In his 2025-2026 season, Davian is set to sing Howard Boucher in Jake Heggie’s Dead Man Walking with Eklund Opera, Romeo in Central City Opera’s Education and Outreach production of Chiaroscuro, Nermorino in Gaetano Donizetti’s L’elisir d’amore, and Valzacchi/Kommisar in Richard Strauss’ Der Rosenkavalier with Boulder Opera Company.
In the summer of 2023 and 2024, Davian joined the Ohio Light Opera as a Resident Young Artist, where he was praised by both La Scena Musicale and the Cincinnati City Beat for his portrayal of Marco in Gilbert and Sullivan’s The Gondoliers. Other roles with the Ohio Light Opera include Big Jule in Guys and Dolls, Lord Battersby in Me and My Girl, Morpheus in Orpheus in the Underworld, and Franz in The Sound of Music.
Some of Davian’s past engagements include Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni, Alfred in Die Fledermaus, Gherardo in Gianni Schicchi, Bellerose in Monsieur et Madame Denis, Le Remendado in Carmen, Erster Geharnischter in Die Zauberflöte, and Fabrizio Naccarelli in the Light in the Piazza.
