David Roush is a second-year doctoral student in wind conducting at Northwestern University studying with Dr. Mallory Thompson. A native of Mahomet, Illinois, David discovered a love of music and wind band at an early age. He attended the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign from 2008-2012, receiving a bachelor's degree in music education with highest honors. Following his studies, he then spent six years teaching band in the public schools of rural central Illinois. From 2019-2021, David attended the University of Minnesota Twin-Cities to pursue a master's degree in wind conducting with Dr. Emily Threinen, after which he returned to Illinois to begin his studies at Northwestern. Following his doctoral degree, David hopes to lead ensembles and teach conducting at the collegiate level.
