Biography

Davis Pierson

Davis is currently in his final year as a Double Bass Performance Major at Baylor University studying under Dr. Sandor Ostlund. In high school, Davis participated in the Boston University Tanglewood Institute where he worked closely with Todd Seeber of the Boston Symphony. In 2021 He was given an honorary mention in the 2021 ISB Double Bass Orchestral Division Competition and in 2023 received first prize, as first prize winner he will perform a week with the Dallas Symphony. He frequently performs as substitute bass with the Houston, Fort Worth, and Waco Symphonies, and is currently a substitute for the Houston Grand Opera. He has spent the past two summers in Verbier, Switzerland as an invited fellow of the Verbier Festival Orchestra and performed under the baton of Gianandrea Noseda, Klaus Mäkelä, Charles Dutoit, Daniele Gatti, Lahav Shani, and Christoph Eschenbach.
