Delia Li

Hailing from Ottawa, violinist Delia Li brings a vibrant versatility to her instrument, showcasing its expressive power across classical and contemporary genres. Delia joined the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra in 2024.

Delia holds both bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music, where she studied with Mimi Zweig and Alexander Kerr. Influential mentors throughout her early career include David Thies-Thompson and Yehonatan Berick. Her musical journey has spanned diverse facets of the industry—from producing string parts for Shaya Zamora’s hit song Cigarette, which surpassed 31 million streams, to earning an Emmy nomination for the film score of Over There: Hoosier Heroes of the Great War, composed by Alex Tedrow. Delia also performed with the Indiana University Jazz Ensemble’s string section in Wes Montgomery: A Celebration Concert, an Emmy Award-winning program aired on PBS.

Before joining the Edmonton Symphony, Delia held positions with the Terre Haute Symphony and Indiana’s Richmond Symphony Orchestra. Alongside her orchestral experience, Delia is emerging as a music producer, embedding herself further into the industry by crafting distinctive violin and string sounds that shape a wide range of musical projects. She is currently represented by Hallwood Media.

Delia has participated in prestigious music festivals, including the Sarasota Music Festival, the Orford Music Festival, and the Domaine Forget Academy. She also attended the precollege division of the Pinchas Zukerman Young Artists Program. Outside of music, Delia enjoys ultimate frisbee, being active, cooking, and reading.
