Denique Isaac, American soprano, is celebrated for her versatility and emotional resonance. Denique Isaac brings stories to life through music. Graduating from the Jacobs School of Music with a Masters in Voice Performance, Ms. Isaac has had the pleasure to sing in numerous vocal ensembles throughout the United States, Western Europe, South Africa and Australia as well as local houses such as Annapolis Opera and Opera Baltimore.
In 2022, Ms. Isaac joined Opera Baltimore’s education team, as a teaching artist, sharing “What is Opera? A Team!” and “Voice Your Story”. These presentations gave her the opportunity to teach diverse grade levels and ages about opera through outreach programs. Denique, especially, enjoys inspiring children with the opera genre; hoping the programs will fuel their own artistic passions, much like it did hers. Leading her to a new passion for education.
In 2023, Ms. Isaac received the Bernard Kahn Encouragement Award from the South Carolina District of The Metropolitan Opera’s Laffont Competition. She won first place in both the NATS National Student Auditions Upper Advanced Classical Treble Voices and the American Negro Spiritual All-Voices category. She performed with Annapolis Opera again, in the chorus and as a Bridesmaid, in Mozart’s classic Le nozze di Figaro. Ms. Isaac had the privilege of premiering Noah Getz’s opera, Dear Mr. Duncan, with the World Music Collective. She performed the role of “female lead”- tackling the roles of mother, student and wife of renowned opera singer, Todd Duncan. Later that same year she debuted as Countess Ceprano in Opera Delaware’s production of Rigoletto.
Most recently, Ms. Isaac performed with Annapolis Opera, in the Donizetti opera, The Elixir of Love, singing the role of Giannetta. Soon after, Denique had the pleasure of joining WNO’s production of Turandot as a member of the chorus. She returned to Annapolis Opera with library outreach concerts, singing a variety of opera, spirituals and musical theatre, bringing music to children and her community.
Denique was in Verdi’s Macbeth, with Washington National Opera in the chorus and she will start her year with Cedar Rapids Opera as a spirit, in Massenet’s opera, Cendrillon. She’ll return to the WNO chorus in Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess.

Leading her to a dynamic summer with Central City Opera, performing in the opera, The Knock, and the musical theatre work, Once Upon a Mattress, where she performed the role of Lady Lucile.
Denique was accepted as a Jan Miller Studio Artist with Pensacola Opera. She will open their season singing the role of Bea, in Jake Heggie’s Three Decembers. Denique is looking forward to the rest of their season as well, where she’ll be singing the role of Annina and covering, Violetta, in La Traviata and covering Laurey in Oklahoma! Ms. Isaac is currently based in her hometown of Baltimore, Maryland where she studies under the tutelage of Elizabeth Daniels.
