Third-year soprano of the Ryan Opera Center, Denis Vélez, from Puebla, México, was a national winner of the 2020 Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition.Her performance earned her the First Prize, the French Opera Award and the Francisco Araiza Special Award at the National Singing Contest Carlo Morelli. Miss Vélez was winner of Female voice award on the LuminArts competition on march 2022 in Chicago.
