Biography

Dennis Rendleman

Dennis Rendleman is a multidisciplinary artist, educator, and performer whose work bridges classical music, musical theatre, and large-scale entertainment. Known for his versatility and collaborative spirit, Dennis weaves together classical musicianship, theatrical storytelling, and a deep commitment to inclusive artistic spaces. Most recently, he performed with Disney Cruise Line as an actor and dancer bringing multiple iconic roles to life across flagship productions onboard the Disney Wish.

Dennis holds a Master of Music in Flute Performance from The New School’s Mannes School of Music in New York City, where he studied with Judith Mendenhall, Principal Flutist of the American Ballet Theatre. A proud alumnus of Indiana University Bloomington, he earned multiple undergraduate degrees from the world-renowned Jacobs School of Music, including Bachelor’s degrees in Music Education, Musical Theatre, and Flute Performance, where he studied under Thomas Robertello. This diverse academic foundation informs his unique ability to move fluidly between orchestral performance, education, and theatrical production.

As a musician, Dennis has appeared internationally with Broadway International Group on the global tour of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s The Sound of Music, performing over 200 shows across Asia. He was featured as a flutist in the acoustic music video for “Ambition for Cash” by rapper Key Glock, which has garnered nearly 3 million views on YouTube. His work in commercial entertainment includes experience as an actor and performer with Disney Cruise Line, where he has appeared in major productions, portraying timeless roles and bringing iconic stories to life for audiences of all ages.

In addition to performing, Dennis Rendleman is an accomplished music director and educator with a strong foundation in music pedagogy, performance, and conducting. In 2023, he competed in the Los Angeles Conducting Competition. Dennis has served as a Resident Music Director and Install Music Supervisor for Norwegian Cruise Line and is a licensed music teacher (PreK–12), fostering rehearsal environments centered around expression, exploration, and artistic excellence. Most recently, he was Director of Bands at Mead Hall Episcopal School in Aiken, South Carolina, where he led the program to earn multiple Gold ratings at the state level in both solo and ensemble performance.

Dennis is an active advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion in the arts. He has held leadership roles as an Assistant Resident Director and Interim Resident Director at The New School, supporting student communities through interactive programming and curriculum enrichment. He has contributed to the New York Flute Club’s DEI Committee and participated in the Mannes Sounds Festival at Carnegie Hall. Whether onstage or in the classroom, Dennis is committed to fostering artistic experiences where individuals feel seen, valued, and empowered to take creative risks.
