A fiery and inquisitive artist, Dylan hails from the beautiful swamps of south Louisiana where he first fell in love with the soul-changing power of music, art, and food. Drawn to the intersectionality of music and dance, Dylan believes in their radical ability to tell bold, innovative stories. Dylan’s artistic influences span from Bach to Blondie, Balanchine to Beyonce- each inspiring his drive to create with clarity, individuality, and purpose. Dylan feels fortunate to collaborate across diverse artistic mediums, equally at home conceptualizing new musicals or reimagining classic operas - the push and pull of his artistic heart. Being a little gay boy in the deep South- push and pull. Dreaming of dancing Swan Lake yet falling in love with Destiny’s Child on the playground-push and pull. Dylan credits this amphibious approach to art as his greatest strength. Did he just compare himself to a frog? Yes. Dylan thrives in the challenge of embracing a diverse range of mediums to tell powerful stories and connect with audiences. He believes if art can be indisputably specific and unapologetic it has the power to touch a wider audience in its exploration of humanity. It shows us that there is weight to the fluff and light in the dark- push and pull. Dylan is a recent graduate of the George Abbott MFA in Musical Theatre Collaboration Program at Temple University, where he’s just finished developing his thesis- a musical adaptation of Christina Rossetti’s captivating narrative poem Goblin Market. Dylan is also a proud graduate of Ball State University.
