Elissa May Murphy (EMM) is an active woodwinds musician, conductor, educator and researcher in Upstate NY. A frequent doubler for regional theatre in Rochester, recent productions include Ragtime (JCC Centerstage) and Spamalot! (Blackfriars Theatre). She serves as Director of Elementary Bands at her alma mater, Whitesboro CSD, and conducts county-wide festivals and regional chamber ensembles. Elissa continues to research topics in instrumental music and education, presenting her findings at conferences, inccluding the NAfME 2023 All-Eastern Division Conference (vocational identity) and Eastman Context Conference (equity in band).
