Biography

Elizabeth Fassler

Elizabeth Fassler is currently a 3rd-year Master's student in Vocal Performance at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, studying with Michelle DeYoung. In her first year, she studied with Wolfgang Brendel. She performed in the chorus of Carmen with IU in April 2025 and Suor Angelica in September 2024. She also performed in opera scenes from Carmen (Micaëla) and The Ghosts of Gatsby Prologue (S2) with IU. She graduated from East Tennessee State University (ETSU) with her Bachelor’s degree in Vocal Performance in 2022. She performed in several opera scenes with ETSU, including Juliette from Roméo et Juliette, Antonia from The Tales of Hoffman, Gretel in Hänsel und Gretel, and Violetta from La Traviata. She has also performed in several opera choruses, including Madama Butterfly with Nashville Opera, as well as Die Zauberflöte and Le Nozze di Figaro with Prague Summer Nights. She also performed the role of Jennie Parsons from Kurt Weill’s Down in the Valley with Lipscomb University. In addition to opera roles, Elizabeth has performed in several choral works, performing as a soloist and choir member in Rutter’s Requiem and Carmina Burana, as well as many others.
