Emily Auten Cross, a native of Northwest Arkansas, is currently pursuing a Master of Music in Vocal Performance at the Frost School of Music at University of Miami, where she studies under Robynne Redmon. She holds a Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance from the University of Arkansas, where she was mentored by Dr. Moon-Sook Park. During her time at UArk, Emily was a member of the University of Arkansas Schola Cantorum, the university’s premier choral ensemble, and took on several leading roles with the University of Arkansas Opera Theatre. Notable performances include Gretel in Hansel and Gretel by Humperdinck, Laetitia in The Old Maid and the Thief by Menotti, and Susanna in the second act of Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro. Most recently, Emily performed as the Stewardess in Frost Opera Theatre’s production of Flight by Jonathan Dove, sang in the chorus of Tulsa Opera’s Aida, performed at Carnegie Hall with MidAmerica Productions, and appeared as a featured soloist with the Symphony of Northwest Arkansas. She has attended the Brancaleoni International Music Festival in Piobbico, Italy as an Emerging Artist and the Frost School of Music Summer Program in Salzburg, Austria as a Young Artist. With performances across the United States, England, Scotland, Italy, Serbia, and Austria, Emily loves to travel and experience the culture of new places. Outside of her performance endeavors, she enjoys teaching private voice lessons and spending time with her husband, Nick, and their two cats.
