Emily Barber (she/her) is an opera administrator and former stage manager. Prior to joining On Site Opera, Emily helped pioneer the New Orleans Opera Association’s Stage Management Intern Program with a focus on giving technical theater experience to BIPOC individuals in the greater New Orleans area. Emily also served as the Interim Director of Production for the New Orleans Opera Association in 2019 as well as the Production Stage Manager from 2018-2021. With other stage management credits in places such as Chautauqua Opera, Pensacola Opera, Nashville Opera, Opera San Antonio, Opera Santa Barbara, and Shreveport Opera, Emily makes lasting connections and friendships in every place she works. Emily is a certified COVID-19 Compliance Officer and has received training in stage managing Intimacy Direction from Intimacy Directors and Coordinators (IDC) as well as her Bachelor of Music from Loyola University, in her hometown of New Orleans, Louisiana.
