Originally from North Carolina, mezzo-soprano Emme Griffith currently lives in Knoxville, Tennessee, where she is completing the final year of her master's degree in vocal performance at the University of Tennessee College of Music. Over the summer, she was delighted to spend a month at Trentino Music Festival, where she performed the roles of Ruggiero in Handel's Alcina and Alma March in Mark Adamo's Little Women. Not only is Emme praised for her singing and artistry, but also for her maturity and professionalism both on and off the stage. Her voice has been described as mesmerizing, with one of her professors commenting that "the richness and color in [her] low register is just so unique and beautiful."
Outside of music, Emme is an active CrossFitter who is passionate about health and wellbeing. This gives her a unique knowledge of her own muscular system and allows her to sing while doing impressive feats on stage, which include swordfighting while singing "Sta nell'ircana" in Alcina. Growing up, she also participated in both musical theater and dance classes, which makes moving on stage both easy and natural. Directors describe her as being a joy to work with.
