(He/Him) Puerto Rican Tenor, Esteban Valentin-Martinez is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Vocal Performance and Literature at the University of Illinois under the instruction of Grammy Award Winner Nathan Gunn. Esteban has performed the role of Padre in Man of La Mancha, Rinuccio in Gianni Schicchi, Monastatos in The Magic Flute, Imeneo in Handel's Imeneo and Indio in West Side Story.

Biography

Esteban Valentin-Martinez

Puerto Rican Tenor, Esteban Valentin-Martinez is currently getting his master’s at the University of Illinois. He originally comes from San Juan, Puerto Rico but moved to Springfield, MO to get his bachelor's in Vocal Performance at Missouri State University. Esteban has had many experiences in being a part of many ensembles, such as "Coro de Niños de San Juan" where he remained for about 10 years. When Esteban went to Missouri, he joined the Missouri State University Chorale where he traveled abroad to Norway, Sweden, Demark, Iceland, and China. While he enjoyed being a part of ensembles, he specializes in singing as a soloist especially when it comes to Opera and Musical Theater. He has been a part of several productions such as Man of La Mancha, Die Zauberflöte, Gianni Schicchi, West Side Story, Imeneo, etc. Esteban has also competed at singing competitions such as NATS and is a two-time First place Regional NATS Winner.
