Biography

Eunha Jang

Eunha Jang is a Korean soprano recognized for her expressive artistry and refined musicality across opera, art song, and oratorio repertoire. She completed her Performer Diploma in Voice at Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music in the summer of 2025 and is expected to receive her Master of Music degree in Voice Performance in the fall of 2025. She holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Voice from Ewha Womans University and received her early training at Kaywon High School of Arts, where she majored in vocal performance.

Ms. Jang has performed two full solo recitals at Indiana University: a Performer Diploma Recital in 2024 and a Master’s Recital in 2025. These recitals showcased her wide-ranging command of repertoire from German Lieder and French mélodie to virtuosic Italian arias and contemporary American art song. She has sung major soprano arias by Mozart, Donizetti, and Bellini, demonstrating both technical agility and dramatic sensitivity.

Her operatic experience includes both full roles and scene work. Notable credits include Adina in L’elisir d’amore (excerpt) at the Jacobs School of Music, Heidi's Opera Workshop and Musetta in La Bohème (excerpt) at the Hana Opera Music Festival. She also appeared as Amore in Orfeo ed Euridice with Chicago Summer Opera and created the role of Emiko in the world premiere of All of Us, a new opera commissioned by the Indiana Arts Commission. As a chorus member, she has participated in productions of Eugene Onegin (IU), La Bohème (Beseto Opera), and Die Fledermaus (Sejong Center).

Her solo and ensemble work has taken her to some of Korea’s most prestigious venues, including the Lotte Concert Hall, Seoul Arts Center, Sejong Arts Center Opera House, and PyeongChang Alpensia Music Hall. Highlights include appearances at the Ewha Opera Gala Concert (2019 and 2021), the University Art Song Festival at IBK Hall, and the Hope and Love Charity Opera Concert. She has also performed with the On-Dream Ensemble and collaborated in experimental productions such as Résonance: Formant with Aperio and Ewha Art Performance.

Throughout her training, she has worked under the guidance of distinguished teachers and coaches, including tenor Bryan Hymel, and studied vocal technique, diction, stagecraft, and art song literature. Her interests span a wide variety of styles, from Classical and bel canto opera to French mélodie and contemporary American song cycles.

Soprano Eunha Jang is particularly drawn to music that merges vocal elegance with poetic and emotional depth. Looking ahead, she plans to continue developing her career as both a performer and educator. She is currently preparing for DMA auditions with a focus on voice, opera, and oratorio. Her long-term goals include teaching at the university level, expanding her concert repertoire, and championing underrepresented works in vocal music.
