Hailed as “... having fitting gravitas and an affecting vibrato” (City Magazine), soprano, Faith S. Snyderman pours her heart and artistry into all that she does.
Faith has had the privilege of working on a diverse range of projects and enjoys performing in a multitude of styles. Last season, almost a decade after sharing the stage as a featured soloist, she officially became one of the newest additions to The American Spiritual Ensemble's roster. Additionally, Faith welcomes embarking upon newer works. More notable examples of such include singing the dual role of Agnes Smith/Leah in Arnold Saltzman's modern Jewish oratorio Geniza: Hidden Fragments, and working with TONY Award-winning composer Adam Guettel on the world premiere of his re-orchestrated version of The Light In The Piazza while pursuing her master’s.
Additionally, Faith understands the immense complexities of what it takes to perform one role (Dama di Lady Macbeth) while simultaneously covering a formidable leading lady (Lady Macbeth) on short notice. She had the honor of doing just that for Resonance Works’ 10th anniversary production of Macbeth, presented as part of OPERA AMERICA’s annual national conference in 2023. Faith’s other role highlights include Mademoiselle Jouvenot (Adriana Lecouvreur), Donna Anna (Don Giovanni), Margaret Johnson (The Light In The Piazza), and Anna Maurrant (Street Scene), among others.
A frequent concert soloist, under the tutelage of Susanna Lemberskaya, Faith was often featured throughout her tenure as a Fleischner Young Artist with Pittsburgh Festival Opera, additionally performing in scenes as Lady Macbeth (Macbeth), Norma (Norma), Elvira (Ernani), and Saraghina (Nine). As an inaugural Young Artist with OperaFest Sewanee at the Sewanee Summer Music Festival, Faith had the honor of consistently collaborating in concert with Kathleen Kelly and Patrick Hansen, in addition to participating in a chamber version of Strauss’ Vier letzte Lieder.
A seasoned competitor, in previous years Faith has been a finalist in the NOA Carolyn Bailey Argento Competition (Artist Division), and in Opera Mississippi’s John Alexander Competition (Young Professional Artist Division). She was also a semi-finalist in the James Toland Vocal Arts Competition (Tier I), the Orpheus Vocal Competition (Young Artist Category), and in Opera Tampa’s D’Angelo Young Artist Competition.
As a second-generation native Washingtonian, Faith once again resides in the greater DC area with her husband, and is a student of Jennifer Aylmer.
