Biography

Francielle de Barros

A native of Brazil, Francielle De Barros, a soprano and actress, is studying for her Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance at San Jose State University. Ms. De Barros earned her undergraduate degree in Vocal Performance at Universidade Federal de Uberlândia and completed Professional Studies in Acting and Voice at FACEC, both in Brazil. She has performed with the San Francisco Symphony Chorus under Michael Tilson Thomas, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Peter Jackson, Elim Chan, and Jenny Wong during the 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 seasons. Ms. De Barros has also performed with the São Paulo Symphony Orchestra (OSESP) under the batons of Marin Alsop, Thierry Fischer, Claudio Cruz, Marcus Tadeu, William Coelho, and Valentina Peleggi during the 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 seasons. Her recent performances include singing Mahler’s 8th Symphony, Handel’s Messiah, Beethoven’s Missa Solemnis and 9th Symphony, Scriabin’s Prometheus: The Poem of Fire, Orff’s Carmina Burana, Holst’s The Planets, José Maurício’s Saint Cecilia’s Mass, Claudio Santoro’s Mass, and William Walton’s Belshazzar’s Feast. Her CineConcerts include The Lord of the Rings and Gladiator, and her opera performances include Suor Angelica by G. Puccini, Amelia al Ballo by G. Carlo Menotti, La Traviata by G. Verdi, Così fan tutte by Mozart, L’elisir d’amore by Donizetti, and Il Ducato by Gilbert & Sullivan.
