Based in Boston, lyric soprano Gabrielle Clutter has recently won the the Encouragement Award at the Metropolitan Opera National Council Awards Nebraska District. In 2020, Ms. Clutter won the MONC Auditions Iowa District and won the Encouragement Award at the MONC Auditions Upper Midwest Region. She has been featured on CBS This Morning for her Artist in Residency position at Deerfield Retirement Community in Iowa. In the fall of 2017, Gabrielle won the Iowa division of the National Association of Teachers of Singing Competition and the Drake University Concerto Competition. Ms. Clutter will be performing with Des Moines Metro Opera's OperaIowa and Boston Opera Collaborative in two projects: ARIA and Love in the Time of... Unfortunately, among the many things affected by the COVID-19 pandemic this season were Ms. Clutter's performances as the Governess in Britten’s The Turn of the Screw at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee and her Apprentice Artist position with Des Moines Metro Opera for their 2020 Summer Festival. She is a current student of Dr. Rebecca Folsom and recently graduated with her Masters of Music in Opera Performance.
