Gigi Lin is a New York City based classical soprano, actor, and visual artist. She is currently pursuing her Master of Music in Vocal Performance: Opera Studies at New York University, where she studies with mezzo-soprano Dianna Heldman.
This summer, Gigi makes her international debut in Italy with Teatro Grattacielo as a Camerata Bardi Young Artist, performing the roles of Lauretta in Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi and Suor Genevieffa in Suor Angelica in co-productions with Opera Studio Molise. In October, she returns to New York Opera Forum to sing Micaëla in Bizet’s Carmen.
Recent seasons have established Gigi as a versatile presence on regional stages. In the 2024–2025 season, she made her role debut as Norina in Donizetti’s Don Pasquale and portrayed Frasquita in Bizet’s Carmen at the historic Tarrytown Music Hall, both with Taconic Opera. Last fall, she appeared in Dvořák’s Rusalka as 2nd Wood-Sprite in her debut with New Jersey Opera Theater, as Zweite Dame (2nd Lady) in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte with New York Opera Forum, and in selections as Mimi from La bohème and Norina from Don Pasquale in a scenes gala with NYU Opera. Earlier that season, she was selected as an Emerging Studio Artist with Lyric Opera of Orange County, appearing in their Death by Aria showcase and performing the roles of Cupid and Diana (cover) in Offenbach’s Orpheus in the Underworld. Other engagements include scenes from Mozart’s Così fan tutte as Fiordiligi, and from Le nozze di Figaro as Contessa Almaviva with NYU Opera.
Her operatic debut came in the 2022-2023 season on Taconic Opera’s main stage as Poussette in Jules Massenet’s Manon, as a part of their 25th anniversary season at Yorktown Stage. Other recent credits include Richard Strauss’s Ariadne auf Naxos as Naiad, as Giannetta in Donizetti’s L’elisir d’amore, and Suor Osmina and Lay Sister in Giacomo Puccini’s Suor Angelica. In addition to staged works, Gigi appears in concerts and recitals in collaboration with other musicians in the New York City Metropolitan Area.
