Grace Lauther is a mezzo-soprano from Naples, FL. She earned her BM in Voice Performance from Sterson University where he studied with Dr. Craig Maddox, and recieved her MM in Voice Performance and Literature at the Eastman School of Music, studying under mezzo-soprano Katherine Ciesinski. During her time at Eastman, she performed the roles of Madame de Croissy in Dialogues des Carmélites and Federico García Lorca in Osvaldo Golijov's thrilling one-act opera Ainadamar.
Grace is now based in Bonita Springs, FL and has been an on-demand performer in Southwest Florida and beyond. She is currently an Emerging Artist with Gulfshore Opera, having most recently been seen covering Mercedes and playing Manuelita in Carmen this past December. In January, she made her solo debut with Vero Beach Opera as the Page in Verdi's Rigoletto. She has also been involved with Opera Naples in various capacities, including performing the title role in John Davies' Jack and the Beanstalk in February, touring across multiple schools in Collier County. She will be making her house debut with them this March performing in Puccini's Turandot and Donizetti's L'elisir d'amore.
This Spring, Grace Lauther will be making her house debut at Salt Marsh Opera and will be singing the role of Tisbe in Rossini's La Cenerentola. She will be returning to Salt Marsh Opera this October to perform as the Third Wood Nymph in Rusalka.
This previous summer, she made her German debut as Der Komponist in Ariadne auf Naxos with Dramatic Voices Program Berlin. Other roles Grace has performed include Cherubino and Marcellina, Le nozze di Figaro; Dido, Dido and Aeneas; Lapak/Owl, The Cunning Little Vixen; Cinderella's Stepmother, Into the Woods; and Zita, Gianni Schicchi.
When Grace is not singing, she enjoys running, hiking, nature photography, scrapbooking, and drawing.
