In 2020, she performed principal roles with Opera Naples, Heartland Opera Theatre, and City Lyric Opera, and is originating two roles in a podcast opera Don Henry, to be released in 2021. Ms. Pille is an alumna of the Opera Naples Resident Artist Program, Des Moines Metro Opera Apprentice Artist Program, and Chautauqua Institution Voice Program.

Biography

Gretchen Pille

Gretchen Pille is quickly garnering attention for the energetic presence and charm she brings to each project. Recent roles/projects include Dolly in City Lyric Opera’s virtual production of The Threepenny Opera, Suor Genovieffa in Suor Angelica, Plaintiff in Trial by Jury. Current projects include voicing several characters on the short story podcast Tiny Tales and originating two principal roles in Frank Nawrot’s Don Henry, a rock opera whose recording is to be released in 2021. Ms. Pille has performed with several opera companies including Opera Omaha, Lyric Opera of Kansas City, Des Moines Metro Opera, OPERA Iowa, Heartland Opera Theatre, and Opera Naples. Ms. Pille is an alumna of the Opera Naples Resident Artist Program, Des Moines Metro Opera Apprentice Artist Program, Chautauqua Institution Voice Program, The University of Kansas, and The University of Nebraska – Lincoln.
