Holden Seward is a lyric baritone from Richmond, Virginia. Frost School of Music (University of Miami), and he is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Vocal Performance at Carnegie Mellon University. Holden is currently based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where he works professionally as an operatic baritone.
Holden currently studies with baritone Daniel Teadt at Carnegie Mellon University. In January 2026, he will perform as Publio in CMU Opera's production of La clemenza di Tito.
In Summer 2025, Holden attended the Seagle Festival in Schroon Lake, NY. Over the summer, he performed the roles of Dancaïro in Carmen, Peter in Mayo Buckner (Cipullo), and Sailor Quartet (baritone) in Anything Goes. He spent the summer studying voice with baritone Stephen Lusmann and working with mentors such as Darren K. Woods and Maestro Filippo Ciabatti.
In May 2025, Holden graduated magna cum laude from the Frost School of Music with a BM in Vocal Performance and Minors in Interactive Media and Anthropology. Holden was cast in a role in each during each year of his undergraduate degree: The Steward in Flight (2025); Steve Sankey in Street Scene (2024); Antonio in Le nozze di Figaro (2023); and Mimi the Valet, a supernumerary role in the world premiere of Michael Dellaira's The Leopard (2022). He also worked as a performer and soloist in Frost Chorale, Frost's flagship choral ensemble, with whom he completed a tour of northern Italy in Summer 2025. During his time at Frost, Holden studied voice with mezzo-soprano Robynne Redmon and worked closely with stage director Jeffrey Buchman and coaches Jenny Snyder and Alan Johnson.
In Spring 2025, Holden performed with Florida Grand Opera in an outreach production of Beauty and the Beast (Grètry/Borths). For this production, he performed at eight different schools across South Miami. Also with FGO, Holden completed a Marketing and Web Design Internship in Summer 2024.
