Biography

Hope Metts

Soprano Hope Metts possesses a supple, lush voice with sincerity and nuance. Recognized for her electric interpretations, she has most recently performed the roles of Violetta from La Traviata with Spotlight on Opera with Tulsa Opera, Donna Anna from Don Giovanni with Music on Site, and the title role in Alcina with CMU opera. In March 2024, she was named the graduate student winner of the Carnegie Mellon Philharmonic Soloist Competition, and performed the Mad Scene from Lucia di Lammermoor in their 2024-2025 season. Hope was selected to be a Study Grant Artist with the Savannah VOICE Festival in 2022 and 2023, and was a featured soloist for the program’s 2022 VOICES in the Cathedral concert in Tarpon Springs, FL. She has also appeared as a soloist in Handel’s Messiah at the Collegiate United Methodist Church in Ames, IA and Vivaldi’s Gloria with the Carnegie Mellon Philharmonic Orchestra in Pittsburgh, PA. Hope has received a Bachelor's degree from Iowa State University, a Master’s degree from Carnegie Mellon University, and an Advanced Certificate in Music Studies from Carnegie Mellon University.
