Biography

Huizhong Jiang

Huizhong Jiang, mezzo-soprano, was born in Shanghai, China. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Vocal Performance from the Shanghai Conservatory of Music. She later received her Master’s degree in Vocal Performance from the Manhattan School of Music under the guidance of Professor Ashley Putnam, where she performed the role of Dorabella in Mozart’s Così fan tutte and Dorothée in Massenet’s Cendrillon, both produced by the MSM Opera Theater. Currently, she is pursuing her Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) degree in Vocal Performance at Michigan State University, studying with Professor Jane Bunnell. Huizhong is a winner of the Tuscany International Vocal Arts Festival in Italy. In the spring of this year, she performed as Tisbe in the MSU Opera Theater’s production of Rossini’s La Cenerentola.
