Ian Rucker is an operatic baritone from Oshkosh, WI. He completed his bachelor’s degree of Vocal Performance at the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire, under the instruction of Dr. Kenneth Pereira. It was there that he performed major roles such as Sweeney Todd in Sweeney Todd, Officer Lockstock in Urinetown, and Don Giovanni in Don Giovanni. Ian is currently finishing his master’s degree in Vocal Performance at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music under the tutelage of Carol Vaness. It was there that he portrayed the roles of Conte Almaviva in The Marriage of Figaro, and Figaro in The Barber of Seville. He has been seen in local productions in Bloomington as well, performing the role of Papageno in Bloomington Chamber Opera's production of The Magic Flute. In the summer of 2021, he will be attending the Aspen Summer Music Festival as a Renée Fleming Artist.
