From Orlando, Florida, soprano Issana Yaguda is currently pursuing a master’s degree in voice at the Jacobs School of Music under the tutelage of Heidi Grant Murphy.
In July, Yaguda made her international debut as Pamina in Die Zauberflöte with Prague Summer Nights in Vienna, Austria.
In April, she performed as Nannetta in scenes from Falstaff with the IU Opera Workshop. In September, she performed the role of Suor Genovieffa in Suor Angelica with the IU Jacobs Opera Theater.
In summer 2024, she performed the role of Lauretta in Gianni Schicchi and a scene from Alcina as Morgana with Opera Lucca. In April of 2024, she made her IU Jacobs Opera Theater debut performing the role of Johanna Barker in Sweeney Todd.
In the summer of 2023, Yaguda attended the Tel Aviv International Summer Opera Program and performed in scenes from Cendrillon as La Fée.
Yaguda has also performed in the choruses for many productions at Jacobs, including The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay (a co-production with The Metropolitan Opera - 2024), The Merry Widow (featured as Lolo the Grisette), Candide, and Don Giovanni.
