(She/Her) Ivory Stephenson is a substitute musician in the West Valley Symphony Orchestra. Recently graduated from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor's of Music in Viola Performance, Ms. Stephenson is currently working as a freelance musician in the Phoenix Metro Area.
With a passion for musical theatre and opera, Ms. Stephenson has served as a pit musician with Valley Youth Theatre, Grand Canyon University, and Arizona Symphony Orchestra. Recent performances include Tuck Everlasting, Annie Get Your Gun, Newsies, Marriage of Figaro, and Street Scene.
Ms. Stephenson has also been a part of several projects to promote diversity and equity. She served as a student teacher of String Project, an organization that comprises of student teachers that provides lessons to children in underserved communities. Ms. Stephenson also worked on a database project initiative that compiled over 1500 pieces by composers of an underrepresented background. In 2024, Ms. Stephenson was selected to be a fellow for the RISE Diversity Orchestra, a project committed to promoting equity and diversity within the film industry.
