James Eagle is a 23 year old bass from Okemos, Michigan. Currently a Certificate of Performance student studying with Hector Vasquez at the University of Houston, James has completed most of his vocal training at Michigan State University under the guidance of tenor Richard Fracker. He has performed numerous roles with MSU Opera Theatre, including the Vicar in Britten’s Albert Herring, Pistola in Verdi’s Falstaff, Leporello in Mozart’s Don Giovanni, Sarastro in Mozart’s The Magic Flute, and most recently Don Magnifico in Rossini’s La Cenerentola. He received his Bachelors of Music in Voice Performance from MSU in 2023 and continued in the program as a graduate assistant, completing his Masters of Music in 2025. He hopes to someday be a self-sustained singer, traveling the world and jumping at new performance experiences wherever he can find them. When not singing he takes dance classes in Jazz, Tap, and Ballet, and from 2023-2025 he taught dance at Karyn’s Dance Place in Holt, Michigan. His favorite pastimes are going for walks and playing card games with his friends.
