Jasmin White
(They/Them) Hailed by Opera News as, "Highly amusing ... dead on pitch ... and reveling in a striking lower register," White is currently a member of the Volksoper Wien opernstudio ('22-'24). In 2022, they completed their training at The Juilliard School, specializing in opera, early music, and art song. Recently, White performed roles and solos with The Metropolitan Opera, Teatro dell'opera di Roma, Cincinnati Opera, LA Philharmonic, and Volksoper Wien. A Two-Spirit from Grand Ronde, Oregon, Jasmin is also an enrolled citizen of the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma.

Biography

Jasmin White

This season marks Jasmin White’s European debut as a member of the premier Opernstudio at Volksoper Wien, performing from 2022-24 as Mary in Der fliegende Holländer, Martha in The Gospel According to the Other Mary, Frau Reich in Die lustigen Weiber von Windsor, Venus in Orfeus in der Underwelt, and Dritte Dame in Die Zauberflöte. In 2023, White debuted at Teatro dell’opera di Roma as Erste Geist in Schumann’s Manfred, and will be the mezzo-soloist in John Adams’ El Niño with Cincinnati Opera.
In Fall 2022, White made their concert debut as a featured soloist in "A Musical Portrait: Bonds & Price," with the Los Angeles Philharmonic at Walt Disney Concert Hall. Other debuts of note include an ensemble solo in Porgy and Bess with The Metropolitan Opera, Kate in The Pirates of Penzance and the cover of Jane in Castor and Patience with Cincinnati Opera, and Dryad in Ariadne auf Naxos with Lakes Area Music Festival. 
A recent graduate of the Artist Diploma in Opera Studies program at The Juilliard School, White was awarded the Richard F. Gold Career Grant from the Shoshana Foundation in recognition of their artistic development. While at The Juilliard School, White performed a variety of roles including the alto soloist in Prokofiev’s Alexander Nevsky, the alto soloist in Stravinsky’s Pulcinella, Frau Reich in Die lustigen Weiber von Windsor, La Gelosia in Orfeo (Rossi), and Disinganno in Il Trionfo del Tempo e del Disinganno
White’s performances that were affected by the pandemic include Lucy in Tobias Picker’s Awakenings with Opera Theater of Saint Louis, King Egeo in Handel’s Teseo with The Juilliard School, and two oratorios with Oratorio Society of New York. 
A citizen of the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma, hailing from Grand Ronde, Oregon, White is also a graduate of the Master of Music in Voice program at Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music and the Bachelor of Music in Vocal Arts program at the University of Southern California.
