Jennifer Hong, born in Los Angeles and raised in Seoul, South Korea, is a voice performance major with a minor in music education at the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University. She is an opera singer with strong musical literacy and extensive experience working in professional rehearsal and performance environments.
As a vocalist, Jennifer has appeared in operatic and ensemble productions with Indiana University Opera Theater, including performances as a member of the chorus in Carmen. During the 2025-26 season, she also performed as a chorus member in The Nutcracker ballet. In addition, she has participated in NOTUS, Indiana University’s contemporary vocal ensemble. Her musical background includes more than five years of intensive study in music theory, and she is highly skilled in score reading, musical preparation, and collaborative performance.
In addition to her work onstage, Jennifer has experience supporting opera productions in backstage and administrative roles. She served as assistant stage manager for IU Opera Theater’s L’Enfant et les sortilèges and will return in the same role for the upcoming production of Cendrillon. She has also worked extensively as a supertitle operator and completed a summer internship with OTSL (Opera Theatre of Saint Louis) as an orchestra staff, gaining experience in production support.
