Mr. Jones, a native of Robbinsville, North Carolina, received an Encouragement Award from the Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition in January 2025. He was recently seen as Prince Charming in Cendrillon, Kaspar in Amahl and the Night Visitors, and the Witch in Hansel and Gretel with the University of Alabama Opera Theatre, where he worked with directors Paul Houghtaling, Stacy Searle, and Laura Pritchard. This past summer, Joshua was a studio artist at Central City Opera’s Bonfils-Stanton Foundation artist training program.
Joshua Jones, tenor, is currently pursuing the Master of Music degree at the University of Alabama. A native of Robbinsville, North Carolina, he obtained his undergraduate degree in vocal performance at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. He has performed in scenes from Mozart’s La finta giardiniera, and Donizetti’s Maria di Rohan with the A.J. Fletcher Opera Institute. He was recently seen as Prince Charming in Viardot’s Cendrillon and as Kaspar in Amahl and the Night Visitors with the University of Alabama Opera Theatre, where he worked with directors Paul Houghtaling, Stacy Searle, and Laura Pritchard. The spring of 2025 includes the Witch in Hansel and Gretel and Count Almaviva (cover) in Druid City Opera’s production of Il Barbiere di Siviglia.
