Josue Jimenez-Morales is a native of San Jose, Costa Rica where he began playing the tuba under the tutelage of educators and performers Ivan Chinchilla Meza, from Trombones de Costa Rica, and Andres Porras, of Heredia Symphony Orchestra. He has performed with The Cleveland Orchestra, Palm Beach Opera, Cleveland Opera Theater, South Florida Symphony and Atlantic Classical Orchestra among others.

Biography

Josué Jimenez Morales

Josue Jimenez-Morales is a native of San Jose, Costa Rica where he began playing the tuba under the tutelage of educators and performers Ivan Chinchilla Meza, from Trombones de Costa Rica, and Andres Porras, of Heredia Symphony Orchestra. His first musical steps were built at the National Institute of Music of Costa Rica. Josue has participated in YOA Youth Orchestra of the Americas, YOA Global Leaders Program and Marrowstone Music Festival as a tuba fellow. Mr. Jimenez was also a finalist for the 2013 Lynn Concerto Competition and the South Florida Young Artist Solo Competition in Fort Lauderdale. He has performed with The Cleveland Orchestra, Palm Beach Opera, Cleveland Opera Theater, South Florida Symphony and Atlantic Classical Orchestra among others. Besides his orchestral experience, Josue is truly passionate about teaching. He has taught in his native country of Costa Rica and United States, Panama, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Guatemala, Belize and Trinidad. Josue holds a Bachelor of Music from Lynn University Conservatory of Music and a Master of Music from the Cleveland Institute of Music. His main teachers include, Kenneth Amis, Yasuhito Sugiyama and Daniel Perantoni. Mr. Jimenez is currently pursuing a Doctorate degree at Indiana University Jacobs School of Music
