Juliana Curcio

Juliana Curcio is thrilled to be making her European debut this spring with Theater Aachen in Germany as Hippolyta in Benjamin Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. She will also be making her debut in Eutin, Germany as Kate Pinkerton in Puccini’s Madame Butterfly at the Eutinfestspiel this summer. She returned back to Anchorage Opera this fall to reprise the role of Rosina in Il Barbiere di Siviglia and also made her St. Petersburg Opera Debut in the spring of 2019 as La Suora Zelatrice in Suor Angelica. This past summer, she made her Canada debut singing the 3rd Lady in Mozart’s The Magic Flute with Brott Opera. In the spring of 2018 she was the Mezzo- Soprano soloist for the inaurgural concert of the Penn Square Music Festival. She then went on as a finalist in the Edward Murray Competition with Opera Ithaca. Juliana made her Anchorage Opera debut, performing the role of Maddalena in their production of Rigoletto. She continued on as a Semi Finalist in the Francisco Ariaza International Vocal Competition in Hermosillo, Mexico. In 2015, Juliana was a Resident Artist with Pensacola Opera, performing the role of Kate in The Pirates of Penzance as well as various concerts and outreach programs. In 2014 she made her Chelsea Opera debut in New York City as Marla in Henry Mollicone’s Emperor Norton. Juliana also performed extensively with the Central Florida Lyric Opera, under direction Bill Doherty and Italian tenor, Andrea Elena. Her credits include, Rosina in Il Barbiere di Siviglia. Liesl, The Sound of Music, 2nd Lady The Magic Flute. In the summer of 2013 she sang with the Central Florida Lyric Opera’s Verdi Concert Tour in Milan, Italy where she performed in a Master Class for world-renowned tenor, Luigi Alva. Juliana was a Semi-Finalist in the Brava! Opera Theatre and James Collier Young Artist competition as well as the Mezzo-Soprano First Place Winner in the Riverside Opera Company of NYC vocal competition. In 2011, Juliana earned her M.M. in Vocal Performance at The Manhattan School of Music, studying with Joan Patenaude-Yarnell. During her graduate studies, Juliana performed L’enfant in L’enfant et les sortileges. She obtained her B.M. and B.A. in Vocal Performance and Music Education from the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam. After completing her Master’s Degree, Juliana continued to sing in and around New York City with New York Lyric Opera, Manhattan Opera Repertory Theatre, and New York Opera Forum. Her credits include, Siebel, Faust, Cherubino, Le Nozze di Figaro, Dorabella, Cosi fan tutte and the title role in Carmen. Juliana is in the vocal studio of Matthew Anchel and resides in New York City and Aachen, Germany.
