Julien Proulx took over as artistic director at Orchestre symphonique de Drummondville in 2014. Since then, his thoughtful and audacious programming have revitalized the classical music experience within his community. Admired as an energetic and imaginative conductor, he also draws on deep knowledge of choir music in his frequent performances of symphonic choral repertoire.  During his time as conductor in residence for Montréal’s I Musici chamber ensemble, Julien Proulx worked under Yuli Turkovksy. In addition, Julien Proulx has conducted orchestras all across Canada, including Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, Orchestre Métropolitain, Les Violons du Roy, Orchestre du Festival international de Lanaudière, and Orchestre symphonique de Montréal. A trained singer and cellist, he specialized in conducting and composition while at Université de Montréal and during numerous trips abroad. Julien Proulx lives in Montréal.
