Biography

Juliet Morris is a lyric coloratura soprano and New York native, who is quickly gaining traction for her energized coloratura and for “making every word count” (Voce di Meche). Recent credits include performances at Columbia University, Carnegie Hall, the Children's Philharmonic, and Vocal Productions NYC. Juliet also recently placed as a finalist, in both Opera and Musical Theater categories, in the John Alexander International Vocal Competition.

Biography

Juliet Morris

Juliet Morris is a lyric coloratura soprano and New York native, who is quickly gaining traction for her energized coloratura and for “making every word count” (Voce di Meche). In October 2021, Juliet returned to the stage as Woman 1, in the stage premiere of “The Trojan Women,” a new chamber opera by Sarah Taylor Ellis. She also placed as a finalist in the John Alexander International Vocal Competition, in both Opera and Musical Theater categories. During the 2019/2020 season, Juliet made numerous debuts, including her Carnegie Hall debut, performing in the concert “An Evening of Opera: Narrated by Vivian Schweitzer.” Other exciting debuts included performances as 2nd Woman (Dido and Aeneas) with Vocal Productions NYC, Goat Herder (Dinorah), with Amore Opera, and The Queen of the Night (The Magic Flute), with the Children’s Philharmonic of New Jersey. Previously, she has participated in the International Vocal Arts Institute and Martina Arroyo’s Prelude to Performance programs. Performed roles include Suor Dolcina (Suor Angelica), Madame Herz (Der Shauspieldirektor), Die Königin der Nacht (Die Zauberflöte), Diane (Orphée Aux Enfers), and Ninetta (La Périchole). Juliet has placed as a semi-finalist in the MIOpera Competition and the International Premio Chigiana competition, an alternate finalist in the FAVA Grand Concourse Competition, and has won the Excellence in Vocal Performance Award from NYU Steinhardt. She holds a Masters Degree in Opera Performance from UT Austin, and a Bachelors Degree in Vocal Performance from New York University.
