Julio Aleman is an undergraduate student at the IU Jacobs School of Music. In 2020, Aleman was awarded the Premier Young Artist Scholarship and the Cole and Kate Porter Memorial Fellowship. In his hometown of Lynchburg, Virginia, he has portrayed characters such as Emile de Beque in South Pacific and Javert in Les Misérables, among others. Before attending IU, he was ranked first at the highschool level National Association of Teachers of Singing Auditions in Virginia.
