Jun Lee is currently a Master’s of Music candidate in cello performance at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign as the graduate string quartet in-residence with the Solideo Quartet. He began his cello studies with Mary Beth Tyndall, finished his Bachelor's of Music with Tom Landschoot at Arizona State University, and is currently studying with Daniel McDonough, Associate Professor of Cello at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a member of the Jupiter Quartet. Jun has performed in masterclasses for Hans Jensen, Zuill Bailey, Nina Lee, Yeesun Kim, Christopher Costanza, Uri Vardi, Amit Peled, Andrew Mark, Yehuda Hanani, Jesús Castro-Balbi, Si-Yan Darren Li, Michael Nicolas, and for members of the Brentano, St. Lawrence, Brooklyn Ryder, Ying, Cavani, and Catalyst Quartets.
Jun has been the recipient of many awards, including the Young Artist Competitions of the Tucson Symphony Orchestra, Civic Orchestra of Tucson, Rocky Ridge Young Artist Seminar, Tucson Cello Congress, and the Tucson Philharmonic Youth Orchestra. He has appeared as a soloist performing concerti with the Civic Orchestra of Tucson, Tucson Pops Orchestra, Rocky Ridge Young Artist Seminar Orchestra, Tucson Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, and performed The Swan with the Moscow Ballet Great Russian Nutcracker in Centennial Hall, Tucson AZ.
