Karina Buruca-Kunda
(She/Her) Salvadoran-American mezzo-soprano, Karina Buruca-Kunda is a native of Dallas, Texas. She earned her bachelor’s degree in music education from Dallas Baptist University and both a master’s degree and performer’s diploma in voice performance from Southern Methodist University’s Meadow School of the Arts. At SMU, Buruca-Kunda was awarded the Meadows Artistic Scholarship. She is currently singing with the Dallas Opera Educational Outreach program as Cherubino in John Davie’s The Three Little Pigs.

Karina Buruca-Kunda

Salvadoran-American mezzo-soprano, Karina Buruca-Kunda is a native of Dallas, Texas. She earned her bachelor’s degree in music education from Dallas Baptist University and both a master’s degree and performer’s diploma in voice performance from Southern Methodist University’s Meadow School of the Arts. During her time at SMU, Buruca-Kunda was awarded the Meadows Artistic Scholarship. She is currently singing with the Dallas Opera Educational Outreach program as Cherubino in John Davie’s The Three Little Pigs. Buruca-Kunda is also a member of the Dallas Opera Chorus.

Buruca-Kunda’s opera roles include Cherubino Le Nozze di Figaro(LOSW, Germany), Zita in Gianni Schicchi (SMU), Lucretia in The Rape of Lucretia (SMU), Orlovsky in Die Fledermaus (LOSW, Germany), and Ernesto in The Billy Goats Gruff.
