Katherine Riederer (soprano) is a graduate from the University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music, majoring in vocal performance and music education. She has performed in several operas, including “Orpheus and the Underworld” (Diana), “Die Zauberflöte” (Erste Dame), and was most recently seen in Buffalo Opera Unlimited’s production of “Le Nozze di Figaro” (Barbarina). Her upcoming engagements include “I Pagliacci” (Chorus) and “Der fliegende Höllander” (Chorus). She will also be seen singing a recital in collabortion with the Erwin H. Johnson Memorial Fund Inc. on WNED, to promote “World Opera Day”. In addition to opera, Katherine has sung in choral ensembles such as Harmonia Chamber Singers, CCM Chamber Ensemble, and Coro Volante. She serves as a staff singer with the Buffalo Philharmonic Chorus, a section leader at St. Paul’s and Our Lady of Victory Basilica, and sings with INCIPIO singers. Katherine studies with Daniel Ihasz and has worked with several coaches, including Glenn Morton, Mikyung Kim, Raphael Fusco, Michael Sheetz, Ubaldo Fabbri, and Donna Loewy. This summer, she studied in Novafeltria, Italy as a young artist of Classic Lyric Arts.
