My professional life has essentially been split into the pursuit of my two passions: environmental policy and opera performance. I am an excellent verbal and written communicator who sets high standards for myself. Organizing and planning is not only a strength, but a bit of a special interest. I especially enjoy planning events and the opportunity to combine this with my passion for the environment is my ambition for a career. My dream job is to work on events and fundraising for an environmental organization that reflects my ethical values. I am a proficient public speaker and my education and mentors have helped me to understand the power of listening. Having spent my life performing, I am comfortable in front of an audience. I have worked on and off the stage, including serving on local boards, to engage with issues I care about in my community. I also have experience with outreach using social media and writing articles for small newspapers and magazines. Beginning with my mother, a science teacher and eco-fanatic, I am a lifelong volunteer for environmental causes. Through planting trees in my community to the DNR’s Project AWARE river cleanup, I learned early-on the importance of volunteer work. Into my adulthood, I continued to volunteer and occasionally led and organized groups to work toward a common goal.
