Praised for her high-level artistry, lyric soprano Kathleen Echols is having a successful season in classical, verismo, and contemporary opera. Most recently, Kathleen debuted her role of Suzel in Teatro Grattacielo and Camerata Bardi’s production of L’amico Fritz. Other exciting engagements have included a double-bill as Nedda in I Pagliacci and Zemfira in Aleko (Pacific Lyric Association), and two beloved role reprisals as Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni (Off-Brand Opera) and Nedda in I Pagliacci (Opera Vermont). “As Nedda, Kathleen Echols evokes a nuanced tenderness from her brilliant soprano,” and “proves a deft comedian.” (The Rutland Herald) In 2024, Kathleen originated the role of Nancy Clutter in Truman and Nancy, “gorgeously delivering Zeffiro’s soaring vocal lines.” (The Barre-Montpelier Times Argus) Miss Echols is capable of delivering thrilling performances as a soloist in oratorio such as in Rossini’s Stabat Mater, Haydn’s Creation, Rutter’s Magnificat, and Poulenc’s Gloria.
