(She/Her) Cleveland native, soprano Kathleen Norchi is a soprano currently based in New York City. Ms. Norchi made her role and company debut as the young Nannetta in Giuseppi Verdi's beloved comedic masterpiece Falstaff, with Wexford Festival Opera, in Wexford, Ireland, where she was in residency as a 2020 and 2021 Young Artist. During her time at Wexford she performed in two new operas, a mainstage production and sang Giulietta in I Capuleti e i Montecchi.

Biography

Kathleen Norchi

Cleveland native, soprano Kathleen Norchi is a classical singer currently based in New York City.  Ms. Norchi has been referred to as a "clear, impactful, and elegant lyric soprano" by Opera News while performing the role of Jenny in New Amsterdams Production of La Dame Blanche. Kathleen made her role and company debut as the young Nannetta in Giuseppi Verdi's beloved comedic masterpiece Falstaff, with Wexford Festival Opera, in Ireland, where she was in residency as a Young Artist. While in Wexford, Kathleen debuted the role of Collatine in What Happened to Lucrece, a new opera commissioned by Wexford Festival Opera and composed by Andrew Synnott. She was also seen in Master Classes with Bolshoi Opera's Dmitry Vdovin, Rossini Opera Festival's Ernesto Palacio, and MET Opera star Ermonela Jaho. Kathleen returned to Wexford Festival Opera as a Young Artist  for fall of 2021 as part of the main stage production of Le Songe d'une Nuit d'été by Ambroise Thomas. She sang Giulietta in the famed Bellini opera, I Capuleti e i Montecchi where she was praised for her "soft singing" and "well- sung performance."

Representing Opera For Peace Kathleen sang a concert at the Al Bustan International Festival in Beirut Lebanon, accompanied by Italian conductor Gianluca Marciano. Kathleen debuted the role of Jenny in Boieldieu's  La Dame Blanche with New Amsterdam Opera in NYC in 2022.  In 2023 Kathleen also debuted the role of Mabel in Gilbert and Sullivans praised operetta "The Pirates of Penzance." In 2024 Kathleen has been seen performing frequently with the Chamber Concert Group "After Arts." With After Arts, Kathleen will perform in a concert at Carnegie Hall this spring singing the soprano solo in Mahler 4.

This summer Kathleen is excited to return to her hometown to perform with The Cleveland Opera in their Italian Culture Concert where she will sing scenes from La Boheme, Pagliacci, and more.

Kathleen earned her Masters of Music degree from Mannes, and went to the Boston Conservatory for her undergraduate education. Other recent roles Ms. Norchi has performed include Pamina (Die Zauberflote), Lady Psyche (Princess Ida), and Lucy (The Telephone).
