Kaylan Hernandez

Soprano Kaylan Hernandez has had a deep connection with music since the third grade. Ever since then, she has cultivated her life around the arts by being a part of numerous choirs, ensembles, and operatic performances throughout her school years. Kaylan graduated this May 2025 with her Master of Music degree from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music in Vocal Performance under the guidance of Dr. Gwen Coleman. During her time at CCM, Kaylan performed the roles of Beatriz in Daniel Catán’s La Hija de Rappaccini, Arminda in La finta giardiniera by Mozart, and Helena in a Midsummer Night’s Dream by Britten. Kaylan made her debut as a young artist with the Glimmerglass Festival in the summer of 2024; covering the role of Mabel in The Pirates of Penzance, as well as being a part of the ensemble in Pagliacci. Kaylan is very excited to be returning this summer 2025 to Glimmerglass to be in the premiere of The House on Mango Street by Derek Bermel, singing the role of Rachel, as well as covering the role of Esperanza. Kaylan will be continuing her studies this fall at the Yale School of Music in pursuit of her Masters of Musical Arts degree.

Throughout her time singing for various academic performances, young artist programs, and national competitions, Kaylan Hernandez has continually been commended for her musicality and exemplar stage presence. Kaylan has grown a strong love for new and modern works. She believes the continued evolution of opera is a remarkable experience to be a part of and hopes to bring the joy of storytelling and song to audiences across the globe.
